Best advice I have ever received
Everything will be okay. In my opinion, that's the best advice I have ever received. I want to thank my father for that. It might sound like a cliché, but for me, it’s not. I would say it means that different things and events will eventually find meaning and a place in your life, even when they aren't so pleasant.
I'm a big-time stress person and I always have been, although nowadays I'm a little bit better at not worrying so much about things I can't change, and I can handle my stress better. What’s weird about that part of me is that, on the other hand, I love working under pressure. It may seem contradictory, but it is simply a part of who I am.
I believe it is incredibly important to remember that everything will be okay. When you go through different kinds of battles, it can sometimes feel like there’s no tomorrow, or like everything is falling apart and not going in the direction you had pictured in your head. That’s when I remind myself that there will come a day when I won't struggle with it anymore — maybe even a new, better direction will open up in my life. I have learned that you can worry as much as you want, but it won’t change anything. You have two options: either you do something about it (if you can), or you move on with your life.
I have struggled a lot with my studies over the years, but somehow I managed to get into university and found a field that I’m really interested in and passionate about. There is still a lot of pressure and stress in my life when it comes to my studies, but nowadays I remind myself that every exam or presentation I stress about will one day just be a distant memory. These challenges have not defeated me; instead, they have strengthened me and helped me grow in my studies and future career.
Also, a little update on my English learning journey: I'm not quite where I want to be yet, but I'm getting there. I have forgotten about the flashcards, but I have started to watch different kinds of documentaries in my free time, and I think it might actually be a better way for me to learn new words by hearing them used naturally in speech. I have also been practicing with my imaginary speeches and negotiations. I even got my lovely friend to help me, but please don't think I'm crazy when I say that my new hobby is having conversations in my mind in English where I win an argument!
